Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

This policy explains what personal information MockPrep collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Dongsuk Jang, an individual based in the Republic of Korea trading as MockPrep, is the controller of this information.

Who we are

Dongsuk Jang (MockPrep), Yanghwaro 72, Mapo-gu, Seoul 04044, Republic of Korea. Email: support@mockprep.org. The person responsible for personal information is Dongsuk Jang, reachable at the same address.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google; the display name, target band, and test date you enter.
  • Test data: your answers, written responses, voice recordings of your spoken answers, timing measured from those recordings (such as pauses), their transcripts, and your scores and reports.
  • Purchases: from Paddle, the order number, what you bought, the amount, your country, and your email address. We never receive your full card details.
  • Credits: the credits you receive and use.
  • Messages: what you send us when you contact us.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, and logs of requests and errors, and the cookies that keep you signed in.
  • Waitlist: the email address you give us to hear about the launch.

Why we use it

  • To provide the service you signed up for: your account, tests, scoring, reports, and credits (to perform our contract with you).
  • To process purchases and keep the records that tax and consumer laws require (contract and legal obligation).
  • To keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems (our legitimate interests).
  • To improve our questions and scoring, using statistics across many tests (our legitimate interests).
  • To send service emails, such as sign-in links and important changes (contract), and, if you join the waitlist or agree to it, news about the service (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

AI processing

To score Writing and Speaking, we send your written answers and voice recordings to OpenAI, which transcribes and evaluates them on our behalf through its API. Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train its models by default. Reading and Listening are scored by our own software.

Who we share it with

We use these service providers, which process information for us under contract:

  • Supabase: database, sign-in, sign-in emails, and file storage (servers in Singapore).
  • Vercel: website hosting (servers in Singapore).
  • OpenAI: scoring and transcription (United States).

Paddle sells credits to you as Merchant of Record and handles payment information under its own privacy policy. We may also share information with professional advisers, or with authorities when the law requires it.

International transfers

Your information is stored in Singapore and may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. We rely on our providers' contractual safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where the law requires them.

How long we keep it

  • Account details, test data, and recordings: while your account is open. When you close it, we delete them within 30 days.
  • Purchase and credit records: for 5 years, as Korean e-commerce law requires, even after you close your account.
  • Technical logs: for short periods, generally no longer than 90 days.
  • Waitlist emails: until the launch announcement, or until you ask us to remove yours.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Email support@mockprep.org, and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to a data protection authority, such as Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission or the authority where you live.

Cookies

We only use cookies that the site needs to work: to keep you signed in and to protect your account. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. If we add any, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls, and private storage for voice recordings, which can only be played through short-lived links. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.

Children

MockPrep is not meant for children under 14. If you believe a child under 14 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes here with a new date, and tell you before important changes take effect.
